Italian Gardens, what can I say? I grew up eating at this place. The meatballs in sauce transported me back to when I was child. I truly enjoyed my sub sandwich and my kids loved the pizza. I am glad I was able to show the kids a slice of my childhood. Thanks John David. It was. Pleasure meet you.

Oh my, what a wonderful hidden gem. First, you walk in the door and get hit with the aroma of Italian herbs and baked cheese. You're welcomed in by Mr. DeCappo(Carl) and given suggestions to order. While waiting a very short time for our food and looking at the many pictures on the wall, Mr. DeCappo told me about being honored on the same day as Buck O'Neil. The food is GREAT!! Mark ordered 2 pieces of pizza, big mistake one would suffice. The steak sandwich was bomb and large. We've already decided what to ordernext time. Oh yeah, don't forget the Italian cookies that also support the Ukraine.

Great experience . John and Angie took great care of us, we felt like family. We tried the melt in your mouth meatballs, Italian sausage, pizza and best eggplant parm I’ve ever had. Eating my fig cookies now. John and his parents were like meeting old friends!

I was so pleased to find Italian Gardens has opened in their cookie bakery. I have so many fond memories of eating at the full service restaurant. Even though it is not the full service restaurant I remember, the recipes are the same, and just as delicious. The pizza is amazing, I love the three meat slice. It is huge! Light, and crunchy crust with extremely high quality meat and the sauce! Yum. Also, they have a variety of sandwiches, pasta and even a meatball grinder! I don't mean a meatball sandwich either, a true grinder with the Italian bread hollowed and then stuffed with the meatballs, and cheese. It comes with a side of unbelievably good marinara sauce. Imagine my surprise when I found the man himself, Carl DiCapo sitting there greeting people as he always did at the restaurant! John DiCapo will take care of you and make sure what you decide to eat comes out perfect. They do have limited hours closing at 2 p.m., I believe. I think it may only be open Monday through Friday as well. Directly to the East of Tension Envelope Building near the Crossroads. You can see the building down below while you are going South on 71 Highway from Downtown. I will be making this a once a week lunch destination. I highly encourage you to go and dine, and say hi to Carl while you are there. The man is a Kansas City legend.
